That is why they are proud to support the development of Key of Genius, an upcoming feature film based on the extraordinary true story of blind autistic musical savant Derek Paravicini and his lifelong mentor, music educator Adam Ockelford. The story is adapted from Ockelford’s acclaimed biography In the Key of Genius: The Extraordinary Life of Derek Paravicini.

The feature film builds on the success of the award-winning short film Key of Genius, which tells the remarkable story of how a young boy with exceptional musical gifts found a mentor who recognised and nurtured his talent. The project explores themes of inclusion, perseverance, education and the transformative impact that belief in others can have on their lives.

The Boghani connection with Derek’s story extends beyond the film itself. In 2016, Derek performed for residents, families and colleagues at one of our care home communities, creating a memorable occasion that demonstrated not only his remarkable musical talent but also the power of music to bring people together. The performance left a lasting impression on everyone who attended and highlighted the importance of creating meaningful experiences within care settings.
