- Multi-unit deal grows Splendid Hospitality Group’s KFC network to 40 restaurants, creating 100 local jobs
London, 14 August 2026 – Splendid Hospitality Group (SHG), one of the UK’s fastest-growing privately owned hospitality groups, is continuing the expansion of its restaurant division with the opening of two new KFC restaurants in the Northeast. The £1.6 million investment grows SHG’s KFC portfolio to 40 restaurants, underlining the success of its longstanding partnership with KFC and its strategy of investing in leading hospitality brands.
The openings reflect SHG’s confidence in the long-term growth opportunity of the chicken market, with recent data from KFC estimating that it is expected to grow to almost £6billion by 2035 – an increase of 85% in real terms over the next decade.
Located within established retail and leisure destinations, both restaurants feature the latest KFC restaurant design, and are fitted with digital self-service kiosks, alongside traditional counter ordering. The restaurants will serve KFC’s full menu of fried chicken favourites through dine-in, click-and-collect and delivery via Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.
Silverlink becomes SHG’s first KFC in North Tyneside, serving local residents, shoppers and delivery customers from a 4,045 sq ft restaurant with seating for 100 guests. The 3,524 sq ft Boldon restaurant includes a drive-thru, six EV charging stations and seating for 82 diners.
Together, the new restaurants will create 100 local jobs, with both sites currently recruiting as KFC continues to invest in local employment opportunities. As part of KFC’s commitment to being a good neighbour in local communities, the Silverlink and Boldon teams will take part in daily litter picks to keep the local communities clean and tidy. KFC will also donate surplus food to community kitchens through its partnership with The Felix Project.

The Boldon store opened its doors to guests on 11th August. Silverlink welcomed its first diners in July.
