Derwent Lodge, part of the Splendid Care Group, is delighted to announce the appointment of Julie Harper as the new Manager of the home.
Julie brings a wealth of experience to Derwent Lodge, having worked in the care sector since 2008. Her extensive background spans a wide range of care settings, including the NHS and services supporting people with mental health needs. She is an experienced leader with a strong track record in elderly care and most recently managed a 60-bed care home providing residential, nursing and dementia care.
Julie has a particular passion for working with older people, describing elderly care as “incredibly interesting and deeply rewarding.” Her commitment to high-quality, compassionate care aligns closely with the values and ethos of both Derwent Lodge and the wider Splendid Care Group.
Outside of work, Julie is a keen marathon runner, demonstrating the same determination, resilience and focus that she brings to her professional role. She completed the London Marathon last year.
Speaking about her new appointment, Julie said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Derwent Lodge. It’s a great home with a team who are clearly dedicated and compassionate in everything they do. I’m really looking forward to working with the staff, residents and families to continue building on the excellent care already in place.”
